The Nursery Class is open Monday/Tuesday and Thursday/Friday from 9am-3pm.
There is a Nursery Teacher and three Teaching Assistants in all sessions.
Children enter the Nursery the term after they are three years old.
We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum which is differentiated to meet each individual need.
Nursery children have a weekly swim and we have two outside play areas, one for curriculum activities and one for physical activities.
All children have access to two touch screen computers, various switches and IPAD.
We have a structured learning room where children learn to become independent learners.
Communication is a vital part of the EYFS and children are taught to use various modes of communication.
Some children use switches, some use PECS and some use spoken language supported by Makaton signing.
Nursery children access resources in the main school such as soft-play, visual stimulation room, swimming pool and the sensory studio.
Nursery children go on outings to play parks, shops, woods, seaside to encourage their physical, social and independence skills.
The main emphasis of the Nursery is to learn whilst playing and having fun!!
